Looking for a review game that’s guaranteed to engage your students while reinforcing key concepts? Meet Stinky Feet! This game is a classroom favorite that combines teamwork, strategy, and just the right amount of chaos to keep everyone on their toes. Trust me, your students will be begging to play it again.
What You’ll Need:
- Dry erase boards, markers, and erasers (one set per group)
- An interactive whiteboard or classroom screen for displaying questions
- A visible score tally system (a chart, whiteboard, or digital display)
Set Up:
- Group your students into teams of three or four. Assign each team a number for easy score tracking.
- Distribute materials: Place a whiteboard, marker, and eraser at each group’s area.
- Prepare your display: Project the game on your classroom screen and have the first slide ready to go.
- Designate a scorekeeper: Enlist a student helper to track points, so you can focus on managing the game.
How to Play:
- Teams will answer 20 review questions, displayed one at a time. Each question gives teams 30 seconds to discuss and write their answer on their whiteboard.
- When time is up, all teams must display their answers simultaneously. Correct answers earn 10 points.
- After each correct answer, one team member comes to the board to choose a virtual “sock” displayed on the screen. Hidden surprises await under each sock—some will boost their score, others might set them back!
The “Sock Surprises”:
This is where Stinky Feet shines! Each sock reveals a twist:
- Bonus points: Add 5, 10, or even 20 points to a team’s score.
- Point deductions: Uh-oh! Lose 5 or 10 points.
- Team swaps: Exchange points with another team.
- Double down: Earn double points.
- Stinky surprise: No points for this question.
- The ultimate let-down: Lose all points.
The unpredictability keeps the game competitive and thrilling from start to finish!
Why Your Students Will Love It:
Stinky Feet isn’t just a game—it’s an experience. The mix of academic review and strategic surprises ensures students are actively engaged while reinforcing their learning. Plus, the friendly competition adds excitement that traditional review activities often lack.
So, gather your materials, set up your classroom, and get ready to turn review time into the highlight of your students’ day. Once you try Stinky Feet, it might just become a staple in your teaching toolkit!
