Description
Don’t spend HUNDREDS of dollars on expensive anthropology kits! Try this engaging Forensics lab activity that allows your students to take on the role of a Forensic Anthropologist to solve a crime. “The Secret’s In the Bones” is a lab activity that is sure to engage your students and is perfect for both a Forensics and/or Anatomy class. Your students will begin this activity with the discovery of human remains! In order to identify the victim, your students must analyze the remains (a skull, femur, humerus, and pelvis) to discover clues about the victim’s race, gender, and height. SO. MUCH. FUN!
Need a digital option? No problem! I have included a virtual alternative to this lab activity where students use measurements from the skeletal remains of the infamous Romanov family to determine which members of the family were executed and buried in a mass grave. This virtual activity comes in the form of a Google Slides document, making it Google Classroom compatible.
