We are finishing our evolution unit this week with our CLASSIFICATION 5-E lesson. 🌎

For the “engage” portion, I have the students showcase what they remember from middle school by putting the levels of organization in order from most specific to least specific.

I just wrote the levels of taxa onto styrofoam cups.

I made it a competition by offering a prize to the group that could successfully complete the challenge. Surprisingly, it took both of my classes a WHILE to get a winner. 😳

I learned to remember the levels with KIDS PLAYING CHICKEN ON FREEWAY GET SPLATTED. What do you use?
