Description
Need a fun and engaging way to introduce your students to the concept of INERTIA? Use this 5-E inquiry activity to connect with your students as you teach them about the concept of INERTIA and Newton’s 1st Law of Motion! This lab is a GREAT way to introduce Newton’s laws or it can be used as reinforcement for previously taught content.
This activity follows the 5-E model and begins with an engaging “hook” followed by an exploration activity where students DISCOVER inertial effects. Next, students will explain their observations via illustrations before completing an extension activity that will link to a “real world” situation. To assess students’ understanding of motion, I have included an evaluation section where students explain their discoveries from the lesson.
