Description
DNA PROFILING/FINGERPRINTING ACTIVITY:
Don’t spend tons of money on fancy DNA Electrophoresis labs! Try my SIMULATED GEL ELECTROPHORESIS lab activity instead!
DNA FINGERPRINTING: DNA PROFILING
Your forensics students will begin the lab with an introduction to the investigation- the skeletal remains of a woman have been found in the desert and YOUR students are needed to perform a simulated electrophoresis lab in order to produce the DNA profiles needed to solve the case.
This activity is READY TO GO and only requires scissors and glue, making it the perfect activity to leave with a sub or to grab when you need a NO-PREP resource. I use this activity in both my Forensics and Biology classes and the students are always engaged from beginning to end.
Need a digital option? No problem! I have included a digital, Google Slides, version of this lab, making it perfect for distance learning, flipped classrooms, and online courses!
