Are you looking for an engaging St. Patrick’s Day (March) STEM activity for your 3rd-6th graders? This activity provides a challenge for your students mixed with some holiday fun!
What does the challenge consist of?
Step 1: Your students will be presented with a dilemma: Jack Frost has been stealing gold from Lucky the Leprechaun! Your students can help Lucky by building a Lucky Charm launcher that will throw Lucky Charms at Jack Frost the next time he tries to steal Lucky’s Gold!
Step 2: Issue supplies to your students and presents the challenge to students (I have included a printable version as well as a PowerPoint version)
Step 3: Allow the students to collaborate and brainstorm, completing the included “planning guide” worksheet.
Step 4: Set the timer and watch your kids Go! Students will build and test their launchers using the Jack Frost printable as their target.
